Accidental Death and Dismemberment, (AD&D)

What Is Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance?

Accidental Death and Dismemberment is a life insurance product that pays proceeds to your designated beneficiaries if you die or are disabled as a result of injuries caused by a covered accident (not due to an illness).

Some organizations like to provide employer paid AD&D  benefits to board members and or employees. AD&D maybe appropriate for individuals who are going to be traveling on business for that organization.

In the event of an accident, your organization may feel a moral obligation to provide some assistance to individuals or their family.  Employers and organizations may not have a contractual obligation to provide AD&D, but on many occasions they provide compassionate assistance when they do not have AD&D in place. With AD&D coverage you may not need to consider a compassionate pay out.
Some policies have a provision that provides coverage on or off the job, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, worldwide.

How Does It Work?

AD & D generally features:

- Accidental Death and Dismemberment benefits.
- Low premiums.
- No medical exam or proof of insurability requirement.
- Benefits paid in addition to any other insurance.
